Terrorism is a technique used by small set of extremists against an strong opponent .It spreads fear.

Operation Zarb e Azb

INTRODUCTION

Zarb e Azb means sharp and cutting strike.Azb was the name of sword of Holy Prophet(PBUH). Operation Zarb-e-Azb is a Pakistan Military Operation against the Terrorist such as TTP, Alqaida,ETIM(East Turkestan Islamic Movement) .It was started on 15th June 2014 and is still going on.Its main aim is to crush and destroy terrorists from Islamic Republic of Pakistan.It was started from North Waziristan and Pakistan Army is getting continuous success in Operation.

BACKGROUND

Peace Talks between Taliban and Pakistan Government were initiated by the worthy Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif few months after the elections on 26th March 2014.The peace talks were going on the right way and Taliban agreed for cease fire in the month of March.Pakistani Government was sincere about peace talks but Taliban were continuously targeting innocent citizens of Pakistan.On one hand they were focusing on peace talks while on the other hand they were continuously targeting the innocent citizens of Pakistan.Taliban called for implementation of Sharia in Pakistan and to free the Taliban prisoners. The talks involved traveling of the government representatives to the area near the Afghan border by helicopter.The government had indicated that stronger military action will be used if negotiations fail.The major cause for failure of Peace Talks was the attack of terrorists attack on busiest airport in Pakistan . This brazen attack led the death of 26 people and 1 security personnel.

Preparations

Pakistan Military was already prepared for this operation but The Pakistan governament took this step on three fronts.

1.The failure of Peace Talks .

2.To get support from Political Parties.

3.To save the civilians from the terrorist attacks.

A Pakistani security official was quoted to have said: "the army is ready for an operation. It now all depends on the government to make a decision." The army Troops encircled the Militant bases in towns of Miranshah and Mirali.

Current Situation

About 30,000 army soldiers are participating in this operation and They are getting continuous success in the operation. Currently,40 soldiers have been martyred including ssg commando captain Akash. Total terrorists killed in operation Zarb-e-Azb are 447 and a large cache of arms and ammunition has also been recovered.On July 17,Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where he was briefed on the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan.So far about 850000 IDPs have been registered.

Whole nation is supporting Pakistan Army in operation Zarb e Azab . It will continue till the complete end of terrorist in Pakistan. It is the need of time to support the Army and As a Nation we should support them and Look consciously around us, as being the citizen of state it is our duty.

23&24 JULY

Pakistan air force after a pause of several days resume strikes in shawal and as a result of those strikes about 20 insurgent have been killed.on 24 July zarb e azb progressed in 39th day and pak army is getting continuous success in it. Four terrorists hideouts in tehsil shawal were targeted by air force jets.

While the killed terrorists could not be identified immediately, as operation in the area was still underway, the independent sources apprehended that collateral damage may be on the rise amid reports of killing of at least 30 women and children in last week’s blitz in the same Shawal area. According to ISPR mir ali and Miran Shah have been cleared. Huge catch of arms and ammo have been recovered from Mir Ali bazaar including scores of IEDs.

The ISPR release said 142866 ration packs and 20000 special Eid gift packages including clothes for ladies, toys and sports items for children have been distributed among IDPs so far as distribution of more Eid gift packages was also in progress.
